The Beginning, Game Development

As for my 31st birthday present I finally decided to start my long time dream game development. I'm web developing pro for at least 10 years if not count my childish things. But I always wanted to create video game. Since I've never actually studied in any college/uni I really don't have programming basic. But throughout my time with web development I got pretty good. But game development is not just programming. It seems like it's graphic/game designer and programmer's combination.

Back to starting game dev. So I've like tons of ideas to make game, actually who doesn't? Had a big dream to make a game like Assassins Creed etc. But it looked like not a job for single person, that has zero experience. So dream big start small correct?

For first few days I was organizing my ideas to find which one to pull. And stopped for a second to realize that I'm no Einstein, better start from something easy and improve something that world already has.

And I've chosen my first game idea. Which will time will show, wanna keep it secret for now, I might backup and will feel ashamed.

Now it's time to draw things. And develop game story. Turns out I'm no better artist than 5yo. Anyhow started drawing and imagining stuff. Time to shine my 3D modeling skill which I had tiny experience very long time ago. But drawing things and building 3D model is not an easy task. You can have many ideas throughout 3D modelling session and ends up with something that nothing look like your original drawing. And here is the question, should I draw everything in the beginning? or just keep building on 3D?

Right now don't have the answers. Time will or might tell.
